Privacy Policy

Arttavo is a creator network for Jersey City, Hudson County and NYC. This page explains what we collect when you use arttavo.com, why, and what you can ask us to do with it. The short version: we only collect what you give us or what the site needs to run, we don't sell it, and you can ask us to change or delete it at any time.

Who we are

Arttavo ("Arttavo", "we", "us") runs arttavo.com, including the Zine, the Creators directory, Communities and Arttavo Labs projects such as arrival.fm. Questions about this policy go to connect@arttavo.com.

What we collect

Information you give us. When you fill in a form on the site we receive what you type into it:

  • Join our Mission: your name, email and phone number.
  • Submit Your Profile and profile updates: your name, email, discipline, neighborhood, bio, links, portrait and photo credit.
  • arrival.fm sign-ups: your name, email and any details you choose to share about your trip or work.
  • Community posts and offers of help: your name, email and the content of your post.
  • Emails you send us at connect@arttavo.com.

Information collected automatically. Like most websites, our hosting provider records basic technical data when you visit, such as your IP address, browser type, pages viewed and the time of your visit. This is used to keep the site running and secure.

Flight lookups. If you use "Find your flight" on the arrival.fm page, the flight number and date you enter are sent to our flight data provider to fetch arrival details. We don't link lookups to your name or keep them after the answer is returned.

How we use it

  • To review and publish creator profiles and community posts you submit.
  • To reply to you and send updates you asked for, such as new Zine issues, events or Lab launches.
  • To moderate the community so posts stay on topic, respectful and useful.
  • To run, secure and improve the site.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for targeted advertising.

What becomes public

Creator profiles and approved community posts are meant to be seen. Once published, anything in them (your name, portrait, bio, links and post content) is visible to anyone who visits the site. Your email address and phone number are never shown publicly.

Who we share it with

We share information only with services that help us run Arttavo, and only as much as they need:

  • Webflow, which hosts the site and stores form submissions.
  • AeroDataBox (via RapidAPI), which provides flight arrival data for arrival.fm lookups.
  • Email and community tools we may use to contact you or host conversations.

We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect the safety of our community.

Cookies and embedded content

The site uses a small number of cookies needed for it to work. To understand which pages and features people use, we use Plausible Analytics, a privacy-friendly service that sets no cookies, stores nothing on your device and doesn't identify you or track you across other sites. It counts visits and a few clicks (like opening a photo spread or an event) as anonymous totals. Some pages include video and audio embedded from YouTube and Mixcloud. When you play them, those services may set their own cookies and collect data under their own privacy policies.

How long we keep it

We keep form submissions and profiles for as long as you're part of the network or as long as we need them to respond to you. Published profiles and posts stay up until you ask us to remove them. You can ask us to delete your information at any time.

Your choices

You can ask us to show you what we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or stop sending you updates. Email connect@arttavo.com and we'll respond within 30 days. Depending on where you live, including New Jersey, New York and California, you may have additional rights under local privacy laws, and we'll honor them.

Children

Arttavo is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we'll delete it.

Security

We use reputable, secure services to host the site and store submissions, and we limit who on our team can see them. No method of storing or sending data online is completely secure, so please don't send sensitive information such as financial or health details through our forms.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle your information, we'll update this page and the effective date above. For significant changes, we'll let people on our list know by email.
